2. Custom Segments
Last updated: April 24, 2026

Custom Segments are user-defined segments built with AND / OR logic, allowing precise targeting based on behavior, performance, and timing.
Best for:
Advanced targeting
Product-specific strategies
Performance-based activation
Scaling creator programs with precision
Example 1: Top Creators by Hero PID Performance
Segment Definition Creators who:
Have posted content featuring the hero PID, and
Have generated ≥ X GMV from that PID
Use Cases
Launching new focus products tied to the same hero PID
Running promotions or bundles to boost AOV and creator earnings
Hero product relaunches that aim to scale without increasing sampling budget
Special campaigns (e.g. reaction, remix, or trend challenges)
Activation Strategies
Launch brand contests or GMV leaderboard challenges exclusively for this group
Use agents to:
Announce campaigns early
Build competitive momentum
Position these creators as priority partners to accelerate content adoption and GMV lift
Goal Maximize impact from proven creators who already convert on your hero product.
Example 2: High GMV Creators with Low Content Output
Segment Definition Creators who:
Have generated ≥ X GMV historically, but
Have posted fewer than X videos
Use Cases Targets creators with proven conversion ability but low posting frequency.
Activation Strategies
Re-engage using Target Collaboration or agent outreach
Offer a temporary commission boost (e.g. +5% for 30 days)
No free samples required — creators already have product experience
Focus messaging on:
Short-term upside
Low effort, high return based on past success
Goal Increase video output while saving on sample seeding.
Example 3: Inactive Creators (Previously Posted, Now Dormant)
Segment Definition Creators who:
Have posted at least once, but
Have not posted in the last X days
Use Cases Reactivates dormant creators who already understand the product but need a new reason to post.
Activation Strategies
Send a light reactivation message centered on:
Current promotions (flash sales, coupons, bundles, free gifts)
Seasonal or trend-driven angles
Limited-time incentives or contests
Pair outreach with a short posting challenge to reduce decision friction
Goal Re-activate creator output without additional sample seeding.
Example 4: Sample Received but No Content Posted (2+ Weeks)
Segment Definition Creators who:
Received an approved sample, but
Did not post content within 2 weeks
Use Cases Recovers stalled collaborations and improves overall sample ROI.
Activation Strategies
Use reminder-focused agents with:
Clear overdue reminders
Creator briefs or content references to remove uncertainty
If response remains low:
Move creators into a low-effort posting challenge, or
Exclude them from future sample seeding to protect budget efficiency (For details, refer to My Lists → Blocklist in the Help Center)
Goal Close the fulfillment loop and prevent ongoing sample leakage.
Example 5: Posting Challenges & Retainer-Style Activation
This example combines weekly posting challenges and retainer-style workflows, as both are designed to increase predictable content output.
Segment Definition Creators who:
Have posted before, and
Meet minimum performance criteria (e.g. ≥ 1 sale or ≥ X GMV in the past 30 days)
Use Cases
Driving short-term content volume
Creating semi-retainer behavior without long-term contracts
Stabilizing output from reliable creators
Activation Strategies
Define clear requirements:
Posting frequency (e.g. 7 posts within the challenge period)
Minimum performance thresholds
Reward creators with:
Cash incentives
Temporary commission boosts via Target Collaboration
Commission automatically reverts to Open Collaboration after expiration
Continuously monitor performance via Segments and renew incentives only for top contributors
Goal Increase video volume and GMV predictability while keeping incentive spend controlled.
